Our Favorite Line Dance Songs

With 2023 off to a swinging start, we’ve been reflecting on our favorite moments from the last year at New Boots Line Dancing. It goes without saying that our favorite memories came when loud music was bumping through our speakers and we were dancing away with our incredible customers. There is a never-ending supply of excellent new country music to choose from when we plan our lessons, but there are a few special standbys that we come back to over and over again. Like they always say, you can’t go wrong with the classics.

“Boots Scootin’ Boogie” by Brooks & Dunn

If you were born before the year 2000, there is no doubt that you have heard the song “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” regardless of what part of the country you live in. This uptempo classic is performed by local musicians at all of the Broadway Honky-tonks so you can always bust out a little line dance. When the chorus kicks in with the assertive voice of Ronnie Dunn singing “Here we go, dosey doe” you will be out of your seat and on the dance floor before you know it.

“Footloose” by Kenny Loggins

Just because a song isn’t a country song doesn’t mean you can’t line dance to it! This is definitely true for the well-known “Footloose” song by Kenny Loggins. The great thing about this song is that customers of every age are familiar with it. Whether we are teaching a children’s lesson, bachelorette party, or at a nursing home, everyone knows and loves this upbeat classic. Get ready because you will be out of breath after dancing to this high-tempo track!

“Man, I Feel Like A Woman” by Shania Twain

If there is one song that every single class attendee knows, it is this undeniable anthem by Shania Twain. When you hear Shania open up the song with the casual lyrics “Let’s go, girls”, it can feel like a siren's call as everyone lines up to begin dancing. There is no country singer quite like Mrs. Twain and this song is one of her best - but don’t discount her other classics like “That Don’t Impress Me Much” or “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?”. Whatever Shania song you prefer, you can’t go wrong!

“Drunk, And I Don’t Want To Go Home” by Elle King & Miranda Lambert

While this is one of the newer songs on our list, that hasn’t stopped it from being arguably one of our most popular requests at New Boots Line Dancing. The tempo of this song could not be more ideal for line dancing, and the female powerhouse combination of Elle King and Miranda Lambert makes this a favorite for our bachelorette party visitors. When the infectious drum beat kicks off at the intro of the song, you’ll feel the rhythm in your bones.

“Country Girl Shake It For Me” by Luke Bryan

This song is what is known as an “earworm”- once you hear it once you can’t get it out of your head! You can’t visit Music City without hearing this in a hotel lobby, restaurant speaker or even being performed live on Broadway. Luke Bryan knew what he was doing when he released this anthem because every country girl (and boy!) that walks into our studio will always be shaking along.
