Meet our Lead Instructor Andréa!

You may have seen our Lead Instructor, Andréa, on Instagram or Youtube leading line dance lessons but there is so much more of her to get to know! As a former Tennessee Titans cheerleader, Andréa has become a fixture in the Nashville dance community over the years and has a plethora of knowledge to share with customers. Check out our Q&A with Andréa below to learn more about the powerhouse we are so lucky to work with!

What brought you to Nashville?

I knew when visiting Nashville while I was in high school that I would live here at some point. I had no idea why or what I wanted to do once I got here but just knew I had to get here after a trip here with family. Once I got the opportunity to move here after graduating from Auburn University I jumped at it!

Before New Boots, what was your dance background?

I grew up technically trained in various styles of dance and was a gymnast for most of my childhood. I began cheering in middle school and the combination of all three lead me to pursue cheering in the NFL which ultimately brought me to NBLD.

How did you get involved with New Boots Line Dancing?

I met a former instructor while doing miscellaneous dance gigs around town who thought I’d be a good fit for the staff. I shadowed one class and the rest is history!

Aside from New Boots Line Dancing, how do you fill your time?

I am an actress and model so that consumes most of my time outside of NBLD. However, I also enjoy getting into anything outdoors, when it’s warm, spending good quality time doing all the things with family and friends, and whipping up masterpieces in the kitchen.

What are some of your favorite local Nashville spots you recommend to visitors?

Curling up at a local coffee shop is definitely a hobby of mine. My current favorites are Americano Lounge, a great spot to pop in on a Friday or Saturday night and catch some live jazz music, and Humphrey’s St. Both are just around the corner from our studio!

What brings you the most joy in teaching at New Boots?

I get the most joy in teaching at NBLD because of the people I get to work for and with in addition to all the incredible customers we have. It’s just good people on every side of this opportunity. Everyone is coming to us to loosen up and have the best time. I love being able to create an unexpected and unforgettable experience by catering to each groups preferences and capabilities while doing one of my favorite things to do…DANCE!
